Crocs and Ghostbusters Meet With Glow-in-the-Dark Clogs Unveiled

Ghostbusters fans can stomp ghosts in style thanks to the franchise's latest brand collaboration.

Per Ghostbusters News, the latest piece of major Ghostbusters merchandise is set to come courtesy of Crocs. The new footwear, dubbed the Ghostbusters Classic Clog, features glow-in-the-dark ectoplasm splotches, proton pack stylings, and detailed ornaments of one of the franchise's iconic ghost traps as well as its de facto mascot, Slimer. The right shoe is capable of letting out a proton pack sound effect, while the left features a velcro strip which can be adorned with Ghostbusters name tags for Winston Zeddemore, Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Egon Spengler.

The Ghostbusters Classic Clogs are set to retail for $79.99, and will be released across the United States and Latin America on August 19. The shoes themselves won't be the only pieces of Ghostbusters merchandise that fans can look forward to when the Ghostbusters Classic Clogs release, however, as a whole host of other tie-in merchandise is slated to hit shelves alongside them. These include a set of Ghostbusters themed socks, new Croc charms featuring Slimer, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and the "no-ghosts" logo, and a 5-piece charm pack.

These new Crocs are just the latest in a long line of corporate crossovers with the Ghostbusters brand. Back in October, the Ghosbusters teamed up with Hasbro to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Transformers franchise. This culminated in the release of a set of die-cast collectible cars. The first of these was the Ghostbusters' classic Ecto-1 hearse painted in Autobot leader Optimus Prime's instantly recognizable red-and-blue color scheme. The second was a die-cast version of Optimus Prime in his truck form, albeit painted to look like the Ecto-1, replete with ectoplasm stains on the front bumper.

The latest major Ghostbusters release, 2024's Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, was hardly the resounding success that fans were hoping for, yet a lackluster film has never been enough to keep the franchise down. Fans currently have plenty of new Ghostbusters productions to look forward to, even if they aren't all headed to the silver screen. On top of a new Ghostbusters animated series that is set to be produced for Netflix, a separate Ghostbusters animated film has also been confirmed as in the works at the streaming giant. Currently, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 co-director Kris Pearn is set to direct, although no other details about the project have been revealed as of the time of writing.

The Ghostbusters Classic Clog from Crocs will be available in North America and Latin America on August 19.
